GFG Limited

+ Nicholas Hofgren

Nicholas Hofgren is a British and US citizen. He has experience in securities capital markets, real estate and private equity. He started his career by joining the launch of an investment bank in Miami and Lima. There he restructured eleven companies over five years in the FMCG, transportation, communications and manufacturing sectors. Later he was hired by Bank of America to develop a new business raising capital for private equity and real estate funds, which was later sold to JP Morgan (then, Chase Manhattan). He was later involved with a number of financial services businesses for the owners of Brunswick UBS which included freight stock leasing, property development and eventually led to the selling of the oldest Russian Hedge Fund. He fulfilled the role of Chief Investment Officer of Immo Industry Group in 2008 where he was involved in the formation of private funds and the building of new logistics facilities for leading companies across Europe. He served as a partner of Tangent Ventures from 2008 to 2013. In 2008 he co-founded Westly House Partners which secured the sale of a wind farm and funded the first Russian mezzanine fund. He joined Vega Swiss Asset Management in 2013 as Head of Corporate Finance, where he was responsible for originating and managing corporate finance transactions until he co-founded GFG Limited and GFG Fund PCC Limited in 2014. He is currently a board member of the Investment Manager and the Company and a variety of its underlying subsidiary investment vehicles. Mr Hofgren has been a board member of Prince Street Group fund entities from 2010 to date and TLG Capital from 2015 to date. In 2016 he joined the board of Vordere plc, a property investment and development company listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange.

 

+ John Crocker

John has spent the last twenty years focused on alternative investments both as an investor and an advisor. Most recently he was co-head of Private Markets at Deutsche Bank Asset Management and a member of the DB Private Equity Investment Committee. Previously he has advised general partners across alternative asset classes on their fundraising representing 70 managers who successfully secured over $85 billion in capital commitments. He started the fund of funds business at Credit Suisse (fka, Donaldson Lufkin & Jenrette) where he committed over $10 billion of capital to general partners globally. He was also a partner and a member of the investment committee of Capital Z Investment Partners, a $4 billion fund focused exclusively on sponsoring new private equity and hedge fund managers. John received his BA in Economics at Harvard College and MBA at Harvard Business School

 
 

+ Charlie Roger

Charlie has over 25 years’ experience in offshore wealth management providing and overseeing investment services to private clients, intermediaries, institutions and charities. A Chartered Director and Fellow of the Institute of Directors as well as a longstanding Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investments, Charlie's roles have encompassed: relationship management, investment analysis/execution/advice/management, operations, risk, compliance, business development/sales, strategy, business planning, marketing & PR, acquisition & integration, team and divisional management, executive management and executive directorships including CEO. He is an executive director of Redwood Offshore Limited, a business risk consultancy based in the Channel Islands. Prior to this Charlie was a consultant for wealth manager Ravenscroft Limited before which he was Chief Executive Officer of the Channel Islands from 2014 to 2016. This followed a 20-year career with Canaccord Genuity Wealth (International) Limited where he was Head of Wealth Management in Guernsey. Charlie was educated at Elizabeth College in Guernsey before gaining an honours degree in economics & politics from Southampton University.

+ David McGall

David has over 12 years’ experience within the offshore finance industry, acquiring in-depth knowledge of corporate restructuring including: mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt fundraisings, listings, joint ventures and corporate governance reviews. Previous roles having included senior corporate secretarial positions for a range of private and listed entities. David was Head of Corporate Services for Louvre Fund Administration Limited with responsibility for the oversight of: audit and administration relationships, senior corporate advisors, compliance support, management of a number of investment structures and new governance and risk related structures and controls. Having previously held senior positions for Guernsey-based wealth manager Ravenscroft Limited, David gained extensive experience of London Stock Exchange and The International Stock Exchange listings as well as mergers and acquisitions and investment management responsibilities for a range of in-house specialist PE and property funds. As part of his corporate finance role, David assumed directorships on various investee companies and successfully assisted in the completion of a number of high-profile acquisitions and disposals within the UK and the Channel Islands. David was educated at Exeter St Peter’s School and is currently studying toward an MSc in Corporate Governance through Bournemouth University.

+ Glen Broadhurst

Glen Broadhurst has over 20 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having worked in the banking, insurance, fiduciary and investment management sectors. During his career in financial services he has acted as director for a wide variety of regulated entities, including licensed fiduciary services companies in Guernsey and the Bahamas, several Guernsey-licensed investment management companies and a Bahamian hedge fund of funds. He also acted as director for a Dublin-listed UCITS III AAAm-rated money market fund for which he held specific board responsibility for financial control, internal audit, risk management and compliance. He has been Head of Finance at Generali Worldwide Insurance Company Limited since 2008, and prior to that was Head of Corporate Centre at BSI Generali Bank (CI) Limited. Prior to this he was the Financial Controller for BSI (Channel Islands) Limited, a private bank, having joined in 1994 as Assistant Financial Controller. Before commencing his career at BSI, he worked at KPMG in Guernsey in the Audit Department. Mr. Broadhurst joined Terra Firma in 2015, and is a non-executive director of the Terra Firma group’s Guernsey-based entities. He also serves as a non-executive director for the Guernsey Employment Trust, a local charity. Mr. Broadhurst completed his degree in Economics and Accounting in 1991 at the University of Reading. He is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, a member of the Institute of Directors, holding the Diploma in Company Direction, and a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

+ Paul Bannier

Paul began his career in financial services in 1990 with Credit Suisse and since that time has specialised in investment products domiciled in Guernsey and Cayman. He has held senior positions in operations, legal and compliance & business development functions during which he gained significant expertise in the establishment and operation of funds and investment related special purpose vehicles. Between 2011 and early 2015 he was Chief Operating Officer of a fund management company with particular responsibility for the oversight of external service providers. During his career, Paul has previously held board positions on both open and closed – ended funds and fund management companies / general partners, including the following asset classes; Equity & fixed income, Hedge funds, Private equity and venture capital, Real estate, as well as holding directorships of various trust -related structures and special purpose vehicles. Paul currently serves on the board of several investment vehicles and asset holding companies.

 
 

+ Stuart Cheek

Stuart Cheek has 30 years' experience operating in regulated securities trading in the UK. He began his career on the floor of The London Stock Exchange and then the London International Financial Futures Exchange. He later became one of the original partners at Cantor Fitzgerald where he moved onto Investment Banking. He spent over 12 years at UBS and Santander as Managing Director and Head of UK Institutional Sales, where he was responsible for overseeing and integrating sales and relationship management across various asset classes. He was brought in to establish The Gilt Edged Market Maker (GEMM), a key business for Santander, acting as liaison to the Bank of England and managing institutional counter-party relationships. He started working as a consultant with Vega Swiss Asset Management (UK) LLP in 2010 where his role involved introducing new clients using his extensive institutional client base, and managing new and existing relationships. He also was involved with other managers in identifying investment strategies and portfolio management. Mr. Cheek is currently a board member of Vega Suisse Consulting, Vega Suisse Finance plc and Vega Suisse Group.

+ Jacqueline Golden

Jacqueline Golden has over 25 years’ experience in the investment fund industry and is a qualified accountant and member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Jacqueline spent 23 years at Credit Suisse working principally in asset management and alternative investment fund services and administration including new business set up and managing operations, audit, client and fund accounting teams. During her time at Credit Suisse Jacqueline also worked as part of the legal and compliance team for Credit Suisse Private Banking Channel Islands specialising in governance and controls frameworks, risk management, cross-border and tax reporting and was the member nominated director for the Credit Suisse Guernsey pension board. Most recently Jacqueline has held various senior positions at MJ Hudson including MLRO, head of operations and accounting and executive director for MJ Hudson Fund Management Guernsey and is a non-executive director for GFG Fund PCC Limited.
